Graffiti Artist and Muralist.
Mark got into graffiti art at the age of 10 and grew up during the hip hop scene in the 80s. He was also heavily influenced by sci-fi comics and cartoons which inspired him to draw more.
He worked his own style out in his sketch books, then took it to the walls in a local youth centre. He then branched out and painted many more pieces at other centres throughout Grimsby.
In 1991, Ainsley Street Park was legalised for local artists and at that time there were about ten graffiti artists hanging together and doing work around the park, regularly showcasing their latest pieces of work.
Some of the artists started doing local events and pushing the art form and scene to younger generations of local artists. This led to teaching kids graffiti workshops and getting commissioned mural work around Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
Mark's been writing and painting for 36 years now and shows his experience in his work. His own style is inspired mainly by NYC graffiti styles, but he has diversified in to many different styles and painted on different mediums such as shop shutters and shipping containers.
He's created numerous pieces of work and attended local events around Grimsby and Cleethorpes and has painted at events around the UK, always representing the Grimsby arts scene.
