About the 'Grimsby Drive-in' Mural

We recently completed the mural on the end of the old Sub Zero storage building on Grimsby Docks.

Being on the gable end of one of Creative Starts own building restoration projects, this mural was naturally one we wanted to paint ourselves, and as in all our community murals, we approached it as a team.

The mural has been designed by
Creative Start Arts In Health CIC and Justin Fancourt with Kevin Atkins also getting involved with some of the illustration.

Not just a mural but visible evidence of what is possible when people recover from addiction.

We wanted to bring some Americana design to the Docks, and the mural is known as 'The Grimsby Docks Drive-in'.

The mural will welcome visitors to the historical Grimsby Docks and joins other hand painted murals and signwriting by Creative Start on neighbours Alfred Enderby's smokehouse at the entrance to the historic docks.

It has always been our intention to help rejuvenate the entrance to the Docks, where the Creative Start building 'The Great Escape' is also situated.
