New for 2025 - Colour The Town Proud Colouring Book!

7 February 2025

We've been keeping busy over the winter working on some new merchandise and we're proud to launch our new colouring book!

In the book are ten murals from the ‘Paint The Town Proud’ community mural project reimagined and redrawn by local artist ‘Kevin Atkins’ for you to colour in! (We’ve even added a blank wall at the end to have a go at creating your own).

Each one of the murals has been designed by different artists from far and wide, and can be found on the streets of Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

Each mural tells a story. Some of the stories are about the towns history of fishing, others the amazing wildlife that can be found in our area and some that look at our town in an unusual or surprising way.

Scan the QR code on each picture with a smartphone to find out more about each mural. You can use your own colours to decorate them and try your hand at creating a mural for yourself.

Have fun colouring in them all and then go out and see if you can find them on the streets of Grimsby and Cleethorpes. Hint: You can see a map at: www.streetartcities.com/cities/grimsby with all the murals.

Keep an eye out for more murals appearing on the streets of North East Lincolnshire soon!

This mural has been a truly special one for us, a collective celebration of Cleethorpes, its proud ties to the armed forces, and the unmistakable charm of our seaside town. Designed by Creative Start and Nomad Studio, the artwork captures the spirit and heritage of Cleethorpes in a style that feels right at home on the promenade. What makes this mural even more meaningful is how it came to life, with a dedicated group of artists and individuals in recovery all painting side by side. It’s a great example of creativity, community, and connection. We didn’t promote the mural while it was being created, we wanted the work to speak for itself. Thanks to the amazing support of the We Love Cleethorpes social media group and the wider public, the artwork found its audience in the most genuine way possible. Your encouragement kept us going. As a thank you, we’ve named the mural ‘We Love Cleethorpes’ because this is about all of you, as much as it is about the paint on the wall.

We've been enjoying the spring sunshine on the Cleethorpes promenade as we work on our latest mural to celebrate the town. We're aiming to include as many local references as possible and hoping to create something the whole community can enjoy. We're working with as many local people as possible too, including local artists, Armed Forces veterans, and, of course, the recovery community. We hope everyone enjoys the mural when it’s completed. This is a community project, and anyone is welcome to get involved. Come on down and show your support!
